still rollin...

A little update on the painting...
I'm loving it by the way.  Play is the order of the painting day and whilst the first painting has only had one session added to the original image shown in the last post, the second new painting has had many transformations... from a stormy dark harbour scene to this. I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen with it next.  My dilema is that I'm trying to shake off reality!  Having studied the natural world since being a small child the shapes, forms, structures and colours of the fell, woodland, stream and stone wall are embedded in my psyche in great detail.  Now, in effect, I'm trying to turn my back on these things.  But forms will out!  My tactics then have become "paint over it" if a) it looks to much like something real, and b) if I don't like it.  Maybe then I'll be left with something with it's own form and life that I like ;)

Just out of interest have a look at paint Mojo tracy verdago on Facebook. Not your style but she is the mistress of layering and revealing.
Anyway I like what you're up to!

I love this new direction, Helen, the textures and colours are beautiful and there's a real sense of depth in the second painting too which makes you wonder what it is and then just start enjoying it.

Hi Helen,
love the new direction you are taking. I especially like the second image. I wish I could successfully free up too.
