from art to cushion cover

This is one of the pieces that didn't make it into the exhibition so I'm thinking of turning it into a cushion cover.

I'm fond of the seedpods of the honesty plant and a couple of recent pieces have been based on that subject, both in fabric and in paint.

Amazed by the colour of the rescued plant I looked at it thinking hmmmmm those rust spots look like a fine splatter of walnut ink.  It's great when life references stem from the creative rather than the other way around.

Sorry that I'm reduced to talking in captions in this post... I've been bitten on the boob by a horse and am still reeling in pain.

I have tried many times in past months to leave comments for you but Blogger would not oblige. I have found a way to get round that on some blogs so hope it will work on yours too.
I am cringing for you in your pain - how could such a lovely animal behave so brutally! Hope you have relief soon.
Love the honesty textile piece - I too like their pods - and the colour of those hydrangea flowers is glorious.

I have just posted a comment as Anonymous, it being the only way I can comment on some blogs. In case you wonder who I am - I'm Heather - The Ragged Old Blogger.

thank you for the comments! I'm sorry you've both had problems commenting... I wonder what it could be? I'll have a look at my end of things and check it's all available.

ahh... this is what blogger has said...
"We're investigating reports of users not being able to comment on IE8/9 from the embedded form. We hope to have a fix out shortly, but in the meantime we encourage admins to switch to either the full-page or pop-up forms which should be working without issue."

So I've changed the method of commenting to "full-page". Hope this helps.

Beautiful work.......but it's too lovely to be sat on! Actually it would make a stunning cushion, or small wall hanging, or even a framed picture. So sorry to hear you're in pain by the way; bad bad horse!

I can't believe how vibrant that blue is, & the little specks are beautiful on it.
