Do you ever get a yearning for a particular colour, or even combination of colours. I really felt like some vintage pink last night... the colour of Grandma's corset set with a duck egg blue and faded teabag cream.
This is the combination I came up with though I don't think that it does the craving justice... must file it in the mental database to work on.

very ebb and flow. Yes I get cravings for colour. Currently mine is for yellow/orange/red, but in the cold winters my cravings are for neutrals.
I love the diversity of "likes and dislikes"!! During our cold Canadian winter, I never long for neutrals but for hot vivid colour!! I just love the diaphanous quality of this piece.
Yes, I see colours in my head so I know what you mean. I like what you've come up with even if it isn't exactly what you were thinking of.
Beautiful colours... I'd be dying to start stitching on this!
Oh, this is really lovely -- just the kind of fiber abstraction I love and envy. Is this felting? I try to achieve similar abstraction in my tapestries, but they always wind up as abstract landscapes. Anyway, would love to know how this was achieved! I found you by way of fibermixedmedia, and am delighted to follow you! I'm at

if you want to see what I'm working on. I started with tapestry but somehow have moved onto other fiber things, though I hope to get back to the more "painterly" works I began with...
Thanks for visiting my blog --hope you followed. (I love this piece!) I want to follow you back but you don't seem to have the follower gadget downloaded? Am I missing it?
Hi Helen, I'm back ! Your work is just stunning; was just looking at your shop. At the risk of being pushy, I really think you should at the "followers" gadget; then people like me who discover you, can get regular blog updates from you! It would really up your readership.
Also would love to feature something from you shop on my Fiber Cybershop; it's a way I'm helping to promote other fiber artists, and would love to really get some great work on there...!you can just submit your shop link..
I'm still curious how you made that "vintage pink.: Just so unusual and lovely. Is that just all felting?
Hope you get that followers gadget! :)))
Sandra
hehe ok just 'cause you asked so nicely Sandra :)
Yes, sorry for not saying before, the piece is all wet felted and then a line of gold satin stitch was added over the blue silk strip. I usually need to work more on a piece but this one seemed to arrive by itself!
Thank you for the feature offer too... so kind.
