Thanks to Diane's correction I've now found lots on the technique of Sprang. There's an nice tutorial by Kirsten aka "thesojourningspinner" here on you-tube... how to do sprang also circular warp sprang and holes in sprang, then larger holes for hairnets or bags and interlaced sprang. Finally, lots of interesting possibilities for springy sprang... collapsible sprang.

Sprang is one of those techniques which catch craft judges out every time! I second Diane's "yay for Sprang!". Love it! (and thanks for the links)
